What memories do you go to when you want to go to the past? Why do you go to them?
Is it to look for a way to go back, or are you more nobly trying to learn from the memories of the past? Thinking of both good and bad memories can be incredibly beneficial to one stuck in a non turbulent present. Think of the good and what they meant and if it was only ever meant to be that. Perhaps that was the end, but maybe it was meant for something bigger.
Think of the bad memories. Why are they bad? Because of you or someone else? Or was it just an end to a good memory? Sometimes all of the best memories are wrapped up in a box that still holds possibilities for even greater memories, but this box may never get released because of the lightest shroud of dark memories laced around that perfect box.
Is it worth it then, to the person seeking the perfect memories and possibilities to go through that shroud of heartache, indecision, confusion, and hate?
Is this a fair challenge for one seeking a sure thing? I think not. It was never a fair course.
There are other memories to go to, ones not so weighted by barriers. But even those memories were never allowed to blossom. Perhaps that could change with no shroud covering up the beauty of such memories.
I love how the human mind works, the entire process my mind went through to reach these silly but true conclusions...it just goes to show there is a process to everything and a reason for it.
We think of a memory and it is not just that one memory we see in our head, its how we continually evolve the way we feel about that memory and how we approach the thought of some with caution and others with a laugh while the remainder may very well make us cry.
Memories are important tools in our lives. They help us grow, they humble us, they remind us, they point us in the right direction when we previously took the wrong road. Wrap your mind around some memories and what they mean to you. Do they mean the same now as they did when they were the present or have they taught you something over time that you may not have realized.![]()
We see these trivial moments in our lives pass us every day, but you never know when one might just turn into a useful, calming, teaching or life altering memory. Yes, memories should be examined carefully, you never know when the trigger of a memory is meant as a push into a possibility.
