Treasures

We all need someone, at some point, for one reason or another. We need someone to have faith in so that we may never lose faith in ourselves. We all need someone who will love us unconditionally and at every turn in our lives, someone who is willing to love us even when we don't deserve it. It makes no difference whether we find these people in our family, in a friend, or in a lover, but their presence in our lives is a necessity. Without them, we simply fall.

They are the ones who will always pick up the phone, regardless of the time or their desperate need for sleep. They are the ones who know how to talk you down from your darkest moments, and make you actually believe that everything will be alright. They know when to listen, when to talk, and when to just offer the assurance that comes with silent company.

They are the ones who tell you when you're wrong, but forgive you regardless of your crime. They love you for all of your imperfections, not despite them. They help you grow because they would never dream of giving up on you. You can turn to them, count on them, confide in them.

They are the ones most deserving of your love and trust, and yet they often go underappreciated.

Take note of the people who are always there, and make an attempt to be there for them; they selflessly do more than you may realize. Don't take them forgranted. They are treasures.
